Midwifery professional education is a system that aims to produce qualified and competent midwife graduates in the field of midwifery. Midwifery education providers must ensure that graduates become competent so that graduates can provide quality services. Graduates who have good abilities in providing services to women, especially mothers & babies and their families, will make a major contribution in achieving healthy and quality families. In addition, graduates are expected to be able to improve the quality of life and fill the world of work. The success of midwifery education in delivering its graduates to be absorbed and recognized by the world of work and society, will lead to recognition and trust in the community for the quality of midwifery education. Clinical skills are one of many important components that affect the quality of graduates. Standardizing the practice environment, mentors and standards in the clinical mentoring process to the evaluation of clinical skills are some of the things that are important to consider.

To address those challenges, ITEKES Bali as one of the health education institutions and as a government partner in producing health-practitioners graduates, especially midwives, strives to produce graduates with good quality, who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes in accordance with their professional authority. This commitment is in accordance with the vision and mission of the Midwife profession education program.

To achieve this goal, the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is held to all students of midwifery program. OSCE is a part that plays a role in assessing students' clinical skills in an objective and structured manner. Clinical competencies that must be achieved in the profession are assessed by paying attention to critical thinking and clinical decision making, reflection learning and practice, providing effective feedback and using methods according to the latest evidence in evaluating student clinical skills. Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE) is part of an assessment system that tests student clinical competence and skills objectively and structured because observations are made directly on each student more structured, planned, and visible. The OSCE was administered from January 15 to 18, 2024 at ITEKES Bali OSCE center.
